Learn More About ISIS
Learning How To Order Insulin for Your Diabetic Patients
ISIS will start you off at the basic level of patient management generating
a unique set of patient cases for you to treat. As you successfully treat
your patients you’ll be able to access more demanding simulated patient
cases. For each patient, ISIS will provide you with their medical history
in addition to their insulin log book and other relevant medical information.
You can then determine which insulin product to order, the appropriate dose
and time of day to administer. ISIS will then show you how your treatment
affected the patient’s blood glucose levels. The simulated patient may, or
may not, return to your office for further treatment.
Expert Help
You’re never alone when treating simulated patients in ISIS because as you
move through the simulation ordering treatment for the various patients
ISIS will give you hints to assist you with the decision process. As you
successfully stabilize each patient you’ll be provided with an expert’s
opinion detailing the recommended treatment protocol as well as links to
medical references pertinent to each individual patient scenario.
Day to Day Help
As you work through the patient scenarios you’ll be building up a reference
library, consisting of all the hints, expert opinion and medical literature.
You can use this library to help you in your day to day practise management
of your diabetic patients.
Talking To Other Medical Professionals
Despite the help that the ISIS program provides you may want to chat with
other medical professionals about the individual simulated patient scenarios.
ISIS will facilitate these discussions enabling you to share treatments,
ideas or to ask advice of the user community.
Modules and Scenarios
The patient scenarios are organized into modules which cover a broad range
of subjects, from simple insulin starts to pregnancy and pumps. Each module
contains a number of patient scenarios which differ in complexity. For a
